This foundational course introduces students to the essential theories, theological frameworks, and practical models that shape effective youth ministry. It focuses on developing a biblical understanding of youth ministry and equipping participants to engage adolescents in meaningful, spiritually formative ways. Students will explore the developmental realities of adolescence—emotionally, socially, cognitively, and spiritually—and learn how to create ministry environments that foster identity, belonging, and purpose. The course also provides an overview of models of biblical teaching tailored to the unique needs of youth, with an emphasis on communicating Scripture in developmentally appropriate and theologically sound ways.
